Nederburg Wine Farm

Embark on a journey through time as we delve into the storied history of Nederburg, a legacy that commenced in 1791 when German immigrant Philippus Wolvaart acquired 49 hectares of pristine land in the Paarl Valley. The estate was christened Nederburgh in homage to VOC commissioner Sebastian Cornelis Nederburgh, a name that eventually evolved into Nederburg.

Nederburg’s winemaking odyssey is a testament to the myriad individuals who have shaped its narrative. From award-winning winemakers across generations to the indomitable Ilse Grau, who once resided in the Manor House, each character has left an indelible mark. Legend whispers tales of summer nights resonating with laughter and music from Ilse’s Beckstein piano drifting across the rose garden she meticulously planted.

Spanning over two centuries, Nederburg’s winemaking legacy is characterized by an immersive collection of award-winning wines sourced from the Cape’s venerable vineyards. Our heritage unfolds as a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of people and places integral to our journey, and you’re invited to explore the rich tapestry of our past.
